Roger Malcolm Woodbridge worked as Chief Executive, Group Treasury and Wholesale Banking, HBOS/Halifax Plc between 1998 and 2002.
As a board member of Halifax/HBOS, he developed a sleeping building society treasury into a modern Wholesale Bank; growing profits from GBP 70 million to GBP 310 million and increased balance sheet size to GBP 300 billion. He then played an active role in the merger with the Bank of Scotland.
Between 1994 and 1997, Roger worked as Head of Capital Markets of Tullett & Tokyo International Securities. He managed a team of 150 capital market brokers, created and managed the London and Asian credit derivatives teams, among others.
He was at Midland Montagu Bank between 1984 and 1993 where he held positions of Director, Capital Markets; Treasurer, Midland Scandinavia; Director, Samuel Montagu Investment Bank and Manager, Currency Options Desk, Midland Treasury. He successfully managed the Strategic Trading and Research Desk, created a sales force and was part of the team that developed the Global Currency Options Desk on G-7 and many others.
Roger started his fulfilling career on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange in 1984, after he graduated with a second class upper degree in Marine Geography from the University of Wales, Institute of Science and Technology.
He is a Member of the Board of Drexel University College of Business, Philadelphia, USA, to establish an investment/trading centre with the mission to provide real world experience in trading and managing investment portfolios.
