Mr Anogwi Anyanwu has over 22 years' experience in banking. Prior to his current appointment, he had been an Executive Director in Spring Bank Plc between 2008 and 2009.

He was a pioneer staff of Ecobank Nigeria Plc in 1989. In 1993, he moved to Citizens International Bank and joined Spring Bank Plc in January 2006 when Citizens Bank merged with five other banks to form Spring Bank Plc. Prior to his successful banking career, he cut his professional teeth in the firm of Deloitte Adetona Isichei and Co (Chartered Accountants), a "Big Eight Firm", between 1985 and 1989 where he trained and qualified as a Chartered Accountant.

His Banking career spans Banking Operations (Domestic and International), Branch Banking, Marketing, Customer Service, Financial Controls, Inspection and Audit, Credit, Relationship Management, Retail Banking and Commercial Banking. He also has hands on experience in Strategy Execution and Change Management.

He is a 1984 Graduate of Statistics of the University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN). An outstanding academic, Anogwi won the University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN) Prize for Academic Excellence and Best Graduating Student Prize in Statistics (1984). He was a Federal Government of Nigeria Scholar (1981 to 1984). He did his MBA at the Federal University of Technology, Owerri (FUTO) between 1998 and 1999.

He is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants (FCA) and an Honorary Senior Member of the Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria (CIBN).
